Since its halloween (was...) i tought id share a small post about witches.


TLDR -; the broom legend comes fom witches using them to stick psychoactive concotions up their vaginas

Those who practiced “magic” were often using herbs to treat various conditions, though various side effects made them appear like sorcery. Some concoctions were used recreationally—not medicinally—which is where the legend of the broomstick comes in.

The Church of Reality

Some time ago i found about this religion, and indeed they convinced me! I will just quote from their Website

The Church of Reality is a religion based on the practice of Realism, which is a dedication to the pursuit of the understanding of objective reality. Our motto is, "If it's real, we believe in it." Since no one knows all of reality, the Church of Reality is a religious commitment to the pursuit of reality the way it really is. We think about thinking. We wonder about wondering. We try to understand the understanding of understanding. We are Explorers, not followers. The phrase "What is Real?" is our Sacred Question and the word "Reality" is our Sacred Message. We talk about reality, think about reality, and aim to make reality more important in society.

When humanity evolves to a certain level something like the Church of Reality must occur. Humanity has two paths. We can either evolve forward or we will become extinct. We will either Stay in the Game or we will be Left Behind. Since we were created through the process of evolution and our ancestors all the way back to Pond Scum did what it took to survive, we are programmed by evolution to try to continue to exist. We therefore accept, through evolutionary bias, that to exist is better than to not exist. In order to continue to exist we have to evolve forward and we need to be in Right Relationship with Reality to do that. And that defines the mission and the purpose of the Church of Reality, that humanity should continue to exist and evolve forward so that we stay in the game. Our descendants should look back at this time and be thankful we did what we do here today. Otherwise, if we do the wrong thing, they might regret what we do today, or there may be no one around to look back. We will be forgotten.

Arch Enemy - War Eternal

The new music from Arch Enemy called War Eternal is out! Check the new singer, the talented (and quite hot!) Alissa Gluz.

I think she does a good job, it's not Angela, but i'm happy with their choice, after all it's not easy to fill Angela's shoes! I'm optimist about Arch Enemy's future, let's wait for the full album now

5 great anime for you to see

Haibane Renmei

A beautiful melancholical anime that will be branded in your mind long after you see it. A group of girls with angel wings live in an unknown world next to a village surrounded by walls. They live only on discarded things from the towns inhabitants, taking care of each other day by day as they wait for each other to disappear (would expand a bit here but that would be spoilerish). The pacing is quite slow but it still maangaes to leave you stuck to the screen if not only for the beautiful animation.

Katanagatari

The story of a woman named TOgame, who visits Yasuri Shichika, a swordsman without a blade, to ask for his help in finding 12 legendary swords. There is much that can be said for Katanagatari, it has some of the best fight scenes in modern anime, witty dialogue and character interaction filling in the spaces between the action. The progression of the plot is also pretty well done getting you to really care for the characters.

Moon was a great surprise, it was one of those movies that appeared out of nowhere and automatically became one of my favorites

Weird Film of the Week

American Astronaut is a black and white musical western in space about the journey of a man through the solar system to find along lost species, a woman.

The plot doesnt really matter on this one, the films primary focus is to transport you into a new dimension of weirdness, one focused only on country music and strangely acting people who for some reason are stretched out through space. The clip shows it all.
