Pluto's Hidden Ocean

Sub-surface oceans in the Solar System may be far more common than we’ve realized. We’ve grown used to contemplating water under the ice of Europa, but similar oceans may well exist on Ganymede and Callisto, and there are signs of a possible ocean beneath Titan, not to mention the unusual activity we continue to observe on Enceladus.

This is fascinating, but i was caught completely off-guard when i found a paper proposing a subsurface ocean on pluto! There are a bunch of articles regarding this in lots of science websites, as usuall i will just leave you the full paper!

5 great anime for you to see

Haibane Renmei

A beautiful melancholical anime that will be branded in your mind long after you see it. A group of girls with angel wings live in an unknown world next to a village surrounded by walls. They live only on discarded things from the towns inhabitants, taking care of each other day by day as they wait for each other to disappear (would expand a bit here but that would be spoilerish). The pacing is quite slow but it still maangaes to leave you stuck to the screen if not only for the beautiful animation.

Katanagatari

The story of a woman named TOgame, who visits Yasuri Shichika, a swordsman without a blade, to ask for his help in finding 12 legendary swords. There is much that can be said for Katanagatari, it has some of the best fight scenes in modern anime, witty dialogue and character interaction filling in the spaces between the action. The progression of the plot is also pretty well done getting you to really care for the characters.

Moon (2009)

"Sam Bell: GERTY, am I a clone?

GERTY: Are you hungry?  "

Moon was a great surprise, it was one of those movies that appeared out of nowhere and automatically became one of my favorites

Weird Film of the Week

American Astronaut is a black and white musical western in space about the journey of a man through the solar system to find along lost species, a woman.

The plot doesnt really matter on this one, the films primary focus is to transport you into a new dimension of weirdness, one focused only on country music and strangely acting people who for some reason are stretched out through space. The clip shows it all.

The warp drive: hyper-fast travel within general relativity

Do you like Star Trek? I love Star Trek! And we all agree that the Warp Drive would be an excellent addiction to everyday technology, the good news are that theoretically we can make one! The Bad news are that it won't happen in my lifetime...

Possible Bubbles of Spacetime Curvature in the South Pacific

Does the city of Ryleh exist? Is Cthulhu dead but dreaming?

Who cares! It's a good enough reason to make a scientific paper!
