10 mangas for you to read

Akumetsu

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if someone got so tired of corruption in the government of politics and just started murdering them all? Akumetsu is all about that, a vigilant armed with knowledge, weapons, an iron will and a badass mask goes round punishing scumbag polititians in different ways. Always ending his plans with apparent suicide just to get back again next week.

The artwork is great, and the pages drip with awesomeness, never letting you get bored, check it out.

Bokurano

Remember those anime you watched as a child where a bunch of 12 year olds would be chosen by some unknown entity to go and save the world. Well Bokuranos about that, only horribly depressing instead.
15 children get chosen to pilot a giant robot, each piloting it in turn fighting against other giant robots to save our reality.
Thing is, the robot operates on their own lifeforce, so you learn from the beginning that no one will make it out alive. A great philosophical grim manga that stays in your mind long after you've read it.

Great Teacher Onizuka

This ones idea is pretty simple. Onizuka is a former deliquent who comes to be a high school teacher, with his unusual teaching methods he will turn a class of misbehaved students into better human beings. It is really well done, being hilarious at time and trully feely in others. If you're looking for a comedy manga you wont find much better than this one.

Oyasumi Punpun

This manga truly gives you the feels. It tells the story of Punpun starting as a kid, as his life moves on and he learns that living is harder than it looked as a child. Punpun and his family are always depicted as a strange sort of birds (their depiction variating accord to their mental state), but that doesnt take any drama out of this manga. The artwork is nothing short of amazing, dont read it if you're not into depression.

20th century boys

Epic in scope, 20th century boys is about a group of people who come to save the world from an evil conspiracy. I wont say much as not to spoil the story, just go ahead and read it, its worthy.

Shin Angyo Onshi

This one is korean so its technically a manhwa.

Shin Angyo Onshi has it all, an epic setting, a badass protagonist, beautiful artwork, and a prevailing sense of tension through all 17 volumes, its hard not to read this one all at once.

Uzumaki

Greatest terror manga around. Strange events start happening around a normal japanese village, all concerned with spirals. The ambient provided from the strange setting and the eerie artwork makes this one a modern masterpiece in horror.

Berserk

Best artwork, best characters, best setting, horse-rape. This one has everything, onlu problem being the time it takes for another chapter to get out. You cant get any better than Berserk
